Instead, get your fingers underneath the stick and push/pry upward. You lot'll feel some resistance, and hear some metal on metal scraping noises. Thank you so much for that response Oblu. It actually helped me out tonight ! Like nyc3r mentioned, I could not notice an DIY instructions for the H7 bulb.

For anybody else...

I have a 2006 330xi and both bulbs on the passenger side were out... the Xenon low beam and H7 hi axle. Neglecting to pay the BMW dealer $370, I bought the bulbs online for approximately $130 combined and decided to do this myself today. I put bated 1 60 minutes for the job. What an under guess that was !

After watching diverse YouTube videos, I set to task. My starting time mistake was not borrowing a friends heated garage. It is like 25 degrees F outside today, only I only though this task was going to take fifteen minutes to 1 hr.

Some painful things I learned

ane. You tin can non supersede these bulbs from under the hood, looking downwardly
2. Getting around a sharply turned bike, just doesn't work. The automobile had to be jacked upward and the wheel came off.
3. That pocket-size wheel well access panel did not requite me enough room. I removed the entire wheel well cover.
four. That damned spring loaded retainer holding in the depression beam can be a deport. It did not help following the advice of some Asian guy named James Yuan on YouTube. He does not know the difference between left and right and screwed me upwards for a while. If anyone is curious, push the jump downwards/inward against the bulb unit of measurement and simultaneously push button OUTWARD towards the plow bespeak bulb to release the jump.
5. After getting the depression axle bulb removed, I looked for a manner to remove the H7. I was stumped and was very nervous virtually breaking something equally the infinite was so small. I searched and searched the Internet with no luck on help until finding this mail service.

Finally, afterward freezing cold, bloodied knuckles, sore knees, and 4 hours later, my job was done.

If there is a next time, information technology will certainly exist easier now that I have been through this. All the same, I really want to avoid a next time. I take been driving with my lights off day and night. I figure I would rather pay the cost of constabulary tickets that face up this project once again.

BMW really screwed this 1 up. All of this piece of work to supercede an f'ing bulb.
